# Tool Comparisons

Use these when you are shortlisting tools by job: API scale, rendered journeys, or stakeholder reporting.

There is one post here for now, and it is the post people arrive at most: [Best real-browser load testing tools in 2026](https://www.evaluat.com/blog/best-real-browser-load-testing-tools) ranks the tools that run a real browser for every virtual user, separates them from the protocol tools that add a browser mode, and lists pricing as verified in July 2026 rather than as the vendors describe it.

The head-to-head comparisons live under [Comparisons](https://www.evaluat.com/vs), one page per tool: [k6](https://www.evaluat.com/vs/k6), [JMeter](https://www.evaluat.com/vs/jmeter), [LoadView](https://www.evaluat.com/vs/loadview), [Locust](https://www.evaluat.com/vs/locust), [OctoPerf](https://www.evaluat.com/vs/octoperf) and the rest, each with the same structure so you can read two side by side, including what each tool does well.

Every comparison on this site follows the same rules. Prices and plan limits are taken from the vendor's public pricing page on a stated date, not from memory. A tool is only called real-browser if each virtual user drives its own browser instance; a protocol tool with a browser add-on is described as exactly that. And the categorical differences come first, because most shortlists are decided by what a tool cannot do at all, not by feature counts.

More comparisons will land here as the market moves. If you are shortlisting today, the [free speed test](https://www.evaluat.com/tools/website-speed-test) shows what a single real-browser run captures before you commit to anything.

[Most load testing tools fire HTTP requests and never render a page. Only a handful run a real browser for every virtual user, which is what it takes to see Core Web Vitals under load. Here are the seven that do, the protocol tools with a browser mode, and honest pricing for each.](https://www.evaluat.com/blog/best-real-browser-load-testing-tools)
